After the semi was struck by the Expedition, the semi truck was pushed into a GMC stopped at the stop sign waiting to go east. All three vehicles ended up in the middle of Hwy 85.

The driver of the Expedition and his two passengers, including his 6-year-old daughter, were injured and transported to Mercy Medical Center. The driver of the GMC was not injured, nor was the driver of the semi that failed to yield to the Expedition.

According to the sheriff’s department, a Jeep, driven by Curtis Hammond, 65, was hit by a tractor trailer that failed to stop at the intersection. Hammond and his wife, Eileen Hammond, 62, both died in the crash. The truck driver was given a citation and the accident is still under investigation.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol reported that Antoine K. Dean, 48, of Evansville, Indiana, was passing the semi truck when the truck’s drive shaft broke away and broke through his windshield. Dean was taken to a Laramie hospital where he died from his injuries. A passenger, riding in the back seat, sustained minor injuries.
